Camera, Radar, and Ultrasonic Sensors Do Different Jobs

ADAS is not one sensor. Each sensing technology contributes different information and has different limitations.

A practical explanation of why one responding sensor cannot validate an entire driver-assistance system.

Cameras can support interpretation of lane markings, signs, lights, and visual object characteristics. Radar commonly contributes range and relative-velocity information. Ultrasonic sensors are generally used for short-range detection, including parking-related applications. The exact configuration, coverage, and feature logic vary by vehicle.

One sensor cannot validate another

A clear camera image does not validate radar alignment. A responding parking sensor does not establish that a forward-collision feature is available. Likewise, the absence of a visible obstruction does not verify every electronic, geometric, software, or calibration condition required by the complete system.

Begin with the exact feature

Good ADAS analysis starts by identifying the exact feature, its relevant sensors and modules, the operating context, and the applicable vehicle-specific information. General sensor knowledge provides orientation; it does not replace diagnosis or OEM requirements.
